Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has denied speculation. That Viktor Jokeres has withdrawn from the international squad to avoid injury as he prepares for a move away from the national team.
The Swedish forward has been one of the hottest properties in the summer transfer market amid interest from a number of Europe’s top clubs.
The forward has scored 97 goals in 102 games during two years at Sporting CP, winning back-to-back Primeira League titles.
His contract is due to expire in the summer of 2028, but it is increasingly likely he will leave Estádio José Alvalade this summer.
Jokeres was originally named in the 24-man squad for the games in Budapest and Stockholm, but it was announced on Tuesday that the 27-year-old had withdrawn from the international break. The move
sparked speculation that Jokeres could be withdrawing as a precaution due to an injury that could jeopardise a potential summer move, with Tomasson swiftly denying the speculation.
“No! He’s got a little injury. “Our medical team is aware of that and we have made the decision together to release him,” Tomasson said.
“I spoke to Viktor last week. He hasn’t practiced much in the last few weeks and was feeling a little bit unwell with a little injury. ” เล่นเกมคาสิโน UFABET ทันสมัย ฝากถอนง่าย I’m glad to see him and have him here with us for this training camp. It says a lot about Viktor and how much he wants to be involved. ”
We’re thinking about it [the substitution] and need to talk about it more. Ideally, we want to have every player available.”
